About

New Ground is not a startup. It is not a media company. It is not an advocacy group.

It's an ongoing research project exploring how work, technology, community, and place are reshaping where humans choose to live. We investigate why more people feel disconnected from modern urban life, and what alternatives are emerging around the world, without assuming there is a single solution.

Curiosity comes before ideology.

New Ground is founded and researched by Yago: a software engineer, a father, and someone exploring these questions alongside everyone else, not from above them. He's the guide here, not the subject. The project isn't about his story; it uses his position, inside the city, inside tech, to ask the questions honestly.

When time off comes, the instinct isn't to go deeper into the city. It's to go the other way, toward the forest, the mountains, anywhere closer to nature. That instinct is the starting point for this project, not its conclusion.

This is not a project with everything figured out. It exists to talk to people who made different choices, learn from their experience, and document what's actually working, and what isn't, without pretending to have all the answers.

If you're asking similar questions, you're welcome here.

We'll share the research, the conversations, and the places worth knowing about.
